A face mask is usually deployed under one of the following conditions: your skin is behaving badly, you're primping for a date or you're staying in with some old pajamas and an even older movie.
But according to beauty professionels, masks should be used far more regularly to combat the daily buildup that causes blackheads, breakouts and dull-looking skin.
"They absolutely have to happen at least once a week," said Andrea DeSimone, a holistic aesthetician known for the fresh mask recipes she prescribes for her clients to make at home.
